Originated in Newfoundland (Canada), refined in the UK
Originally bred as fishing and retrieving dogs
Used by hunters to retrieve game from water and land
Now widely used as service dogs, guide dogs, and search-and-rescue partners

Coat: Short, dense, water-resistant double coat
Color: Black, yellow, or chocolate
